Prenatal Care
Prenatal care with SOGA is more than just health care while you are pregnant. Our physicians, midwife, and nurse practitioners are passionate about providing patients with a healthy, happy pregnancy. We realize that patients have different needs and desires for their pregnancy and birth experience so we work closely with the Labor and Delivery Staff at St. Josephs Breese to provide patients with the best possible care.
Your SOGA physician, midwife, or nurse practicioner will give you a schedule for your prenatal visits. They will see you regularly to discuss things like nutrition, exercise, how your baby is developing, and any testing that has been ordered. We routinely prescribe an ultrasound at about 20 weeks for all our patients so we can make sure that baby is doing well and parents get a chance to see and start bonding with their baby. As the pregnancy progresses we see patients more frequently to monitor both mom’s and baby’s health. Toward the end of pregnancy we will discuss with our patients options for birth classes and the delivery process.
We are also very proud to have an excellent “Call Room” team. The team is headed up by Crystal our wonderful triage nurse. The Call Room team is available during office hours by phone, email or patient portal for questions, concerns, advice or to discuss normal test results. After hours, our nurses at St. Josephs Breese are available for questions and can contact the physician on call. We pride ourselves on our excellent prenatal care.
