February is American Heart Health Month and February 7th is National Wear Red Day. Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women and is more deadly than all forms of cancer.
As women, we tend to put others ahead of ourselves; However, if we don’t take care of ourselves, we can’t take care of everyone else around us. If you don’t make your health a priority, who will?
You can make a commitment to your health by choosing a healthier lifestyle and here are just a few suggestions:
Make physical activity a priority and commit to moving more every day
Make healthy eating a priority and commit to eating smarter
Manage blood pressure-understand your numbers-monitor it regularly
Talk to your SOGA provider about your risk for heart disease. Your provider can help you tailor a plan specific to your individual risks and give you the resources to start and maintain a healthier lifestyle.
